Creflo Dollar: Get Your Right Mind

Get Your Right Mind - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

Did you know that your thinking directly affects how you feel and the decisions that you make? It’s true. When you are feeling depressed, sad or angry, you are more likely to make a bad decision. On the other hand, when you spend time with God, seek His wisdom and align your feelings with His Word, your choices will have a more favorable outcome. Too often, people make bad decisions because they are acting out on their emotions rather than remaining focused on the will and Word of God. The key to getting control over your emotions is straightening out your thought life and recognizing that negative emotions stem from wrong thoughts that you have accepted into your mind.

Emotions are feelings on the inside trying to move you in a particular direction. When your thought life is full of doubt, fear and unbelief, your emotions will reflect your mindset and influence your decisions in the wrong direction. Negative emotions will cause you to feel powerless, but you don’t have to be held captive by bad feelings. The Word says to think on those things that are honest, lovely and of good report (Philippians 4:8). Being a guardian over your thoughts is essential to keeping your emotions in line with the Word.

By meditating on what the Bible has to say about your life, you fill your mind and heart with the thoughts of God, and can root out negative emotions. A mind that is in agreement with God will actually produce positive emotions that will keep you in His will for your life. Peace and security can be your reality every day rather than uncertainty and discontent if you train yourself to think positively by using the Scriptures for meditation. When Jesus comes into your life, He changes your heart to desire a life of abundance.

The Word says to guard your heart with all diligence because the issues of your life flow out of it. Whatever you allow into your spirit will end up overwhelming and overtaking your life. If you let negative emotions take root in your heart, the result will be a negative life because these emotions will lead you away from the will of God and the destiny He has for you.

You may feel that your circumstances are beyond your control, but don’t allow what things look like in the natural to make you feel depressed or anxious. Satan will try to sabotage your decisions by getting you to receive his negative thoughts and suggestions. Don’t let him do that! Go to God and let Him transform your thinking. Begin speaking positive, affirming words that will bolster your faith, and think about how much your Father loves you. Use these keys to uproot negative emotions every time:

  1. Be conscious of your decisions and why you are making them. Don’t allow fear and unbelief to enter your mind.
  2. Guard your heart by confessing scriptures that support God’s image of you and His plan for your life.
  3. Maintain an attitude of expectancy. Put on the garment of praise and expect God to do everything you’ve asked and more (Ephesians 3:20)!

Creflo Dollar: Use Your Authority

Use Your Authority - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

Many Christians have been misled into thinking that God is running everything in the Earth. And while it may sound religious to say, “God is in control,” according to the Word of God, man has dominion in the Earth. Through the prayers of His people, God is able to change circumstances and situations. It is up to you to exercise the authority that God has given you instead of allowing Satan to control your life and wreak havoc in the Earth.

If God were truly running things on this Earth, do you think that the world would be in the terrible state that it’s in? Wars, natural disasters, violent crime, death and destruction do not come from God. On the contrary, it is His desire to bless people and give them abundant life (John 10:10).

As long as Believers continue to think that God is in control of every situation they will continue to abdicate their God—given authority. Instead, they should exercise the dominion God has given to them through speaking the Word of God and praying. Doing this releases God to get involved in the affairs of men. It’s time to unmask the deception. Yes, God is sovereign, but He gave man dominion over the earth.

Dominion is the power and authority to control, direct and govern. In the beginning, God made man in His image and gave him dominion over everything in the Earth (Genesis 1:26–28). With dominion, man was supposed to control everything in the earthly realm, and walk in authority just as God does in the heavenly realm. Psalm 8:6 in the New Living Translation speaks of the power God has given to man. It says, “You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority.”

Man’s dominion over the Earth was evidenced when God brought the animals to Adam so that he could name them. God could have easily named every creature on Earth, but He gave Adam that job. He was training his son to walk in his authority and operate like his heavenly Father.

So it is clear that man was originally given control over the Earth; however, Adam did not use his authority when the enemy approached him and his wife. Satan entered the Garden of Eden illegally and spoke deceptive words that contradicted what God had said. Instead of exercising his authority, Adam disobeyed God’s instructions and committed high treason in the Garden of Eden; he turned the keys of authority over to Satan. God had to get His power back in the hands of mankind, but He could only accomplish that through a man. His plan to redeem the human race from the clutches of the devil included the birth of His son, Jesus.

Jesus was God, but He operated as a man while He walked the Earth. As a man, Jesus had total mastery over circumstances, situations and all the works of Satan. By dying on the cross, He became sin and was able to enter Hell in order to take back the authority that Adam gave away. Thank God that Jesus snatched the dominion from Satan and put it back where God intended—in the hands of men.

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you gain control over the enemy. Jesus said, “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you,” (Luke 10:19, The Amplified Bible).

This year, make a decision to use your God–given dominion. Do not be deceived by religion which tells you that “God is in control.” Walk in the authority God has given you by submitting to Him through prayer. As you pray the will of God to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven, you can prevent bad things from happening and God’s perfect plan for mankind can be accomplished in the Earth.

Creflo Dollar: Restoration

Restoration - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

While going through a storage closet one day, I came across a box of memorabilia. Inside were treasured artifacts from my childhood and college days. Some items revealed evidence of wear and tear from the years gone by. I’d moved on from the cherished moments that accompanied these things, and had left their remnants uncared for and without cover.

I took out a trophy with rusted and chipped edges, and realized that our lives are similar in that often we have weathered years of challenges that leave our bodies, souls and spirits in need of restoration like those old keepsakes. If you can relate, know that you don’t have to go another day feeling this way. You can have freedom from any emotion, memory or situation you are currently experiencing. God has the power to heal every area of your life. He is a God of restoration.

The Bible declares that Jesus guides us through the storms of life. When we rest in His care, He restores. Psalm 23:2, 3 says, “…He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul.” By the blood of Jesus, which was shed for our sins, we have the right to be restored in our spirits, souls and bodies. Living with painful memories from the past, physical illness or a torn relationship between family and friends, all these things concern the Lord because they concern us. Living the abundant life God promised does not entail suffering without relief or being fearful because of past mistakes.

Casting your cares on the Lord is a critical step to restoration. When you cast your cares on Him, His power, which is His love, gives you freedom from having to concern yourself with that issue in the future. This means from that moment on, don’t carry anything into your new future other than the lessons you learned and the testimonies God gives you where your deliverance is concerned.

It doesn’t matter whether you were hurt by someone else or your wounds were self–inflicted; you don’t have to be a victim. God is a Healer. He wants you to be free from any memory or emotion that disrupts your relationship with Him. Seek truth from His Word about what you are going through. Meditate on the Scriptures and He will do the rest.

Often times we rely on others to validate and complete us in areas where we feel insecure. Why place the burden to heal in the hands of man? There is only one person who can heal–God. He created us and knows what is necessary to bring us back to a place of wholeness and well–being.

Is there anything in your life that needs to be restored? It may be your health, your mental condition, your emotions or your finances. Regardless of the issue, you can be like the antique or the treasured artifact recovered from the attic; remnants of hurt and pain can be erased and your value restored. Give your cares, worries and pain completely to God. He is faithful to heal you and make you whole.
