Creflo Dollar: Love is God’s Banner

Love is God’s Banner - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar MinistriesHe brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love (Song of Solomon 2:4).

Love is a weapon which the enemy has no concept of or defense against. God’s love for us ignites our ability to love others unconditionally.

Some may say, “But Pastor Dollar, you do not know what they did to me, how am I supposed to love them?”

I understand the temptation to withhold love from someone who has committed an evil act toward you, especially if you were a victim of a heinous crime such as rape, molestation, incest, physical abuse, emotional abuse or some other form of abuse. I dare not make light of your experience, but what God wants to do through your act of forgiveness is free you from the prison of un-forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 tells us to “… be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake, hath forgiven you.”

As I pointed out earlier, love is a weapon. It is not a weapon against your perpetrator, but against the devil, the one who inspired your perpetrator’s actions. Having God’s banner of love over us is a witness to others, it serves as evidence that we are living by God’s standards, and not our own. Believe me, your enemies know that they are not deserving of the love demonstrated toward them; but neither are we deserving of the love God demonstrates toward us. Simply cast the hurt on God. He can and will heal your wounds, after all, His banner over you is love. Be blessed!
