Apply Violent Faith
Step four in God’s war plan on debt is applying violent faith to our financial situations. Violent faith involves building our faith by becoming intense regarding making our confessions, meditating on the Word, listening to CDs, or watching DVDs that contain the Word pertaining to our area of need. We do these things with intensity until we can see the tearing down of spiritual strongholds.
Violent faith is simply a disciplined refusal to take our minds off the Word. We confess the Word with a frequency and intensity that is unmatched. Being violent in the Spirit realm isn’t confessing Scriptures once or twice a week and expecting magical results. It takes much more than that to see accelerated results.
The fifth step in God’s war plan against debt is forgetting past debts. In order to move forward, we must let go of the condemnation from making bad financial decisions and mistakes. Philippians 3:13–14 says, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are
before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
If Paul had dwelled on his past mistakes, he never would have embraced God’s destiny for his life. The condemnation of his past would have kept him stuck. We must get beyond the bad decisions we have made. Forgetting past debt does not mean we neglect the debts by not paying them. It simply means we press forward despite the mistakes we have made.
Once we make a quality decision to forget past debts, it’s time to press in on the promise of debt cancellation. Pressing in means we intensely focus on the spiritual and natural aspects of debt cancellation, while being consistent in doing our part.
I know that you are going to apply these steps for financial breakthrough and experience the joy of breaking free from the bondage of debt. Stay the course and take it one day at a time. God is with you and through Him all things are possible.
