Creflo Dollar: Eternal Redemption

Eternal Redemption - Creflo Dollar - Creflo Dollar Ministriesby: Creflo Dollar

Many people come from religious circles that told them they could lose their salvation if they missed the mark or made a mistake. As a result, there are a lot of Christians walking around feeling a sense of continual condemnation when they sin in any form or fashion, and many even find themselves begging God for forgiveness multiple times a day, every day. The truth is that Jesus has paid the price for our sins, once and for all. Redemption is eternal, and there is nothing that can separate us from God’s love once we make Jesus the Lord of our lives. We must renew our minds to the reality of eternal redemption and walk in a consciousness of it every day. Doing so will purge us of the sin-consciousness that has been amplified in the body of Christ.

Understanding the eternal nature of Jesus’ sacrifice for us will transform the way we see ourselves and our spiritual development. The Word of God holds the keys to the truth about redemption. Hebrews 9:11-12 says, “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

Prior to Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, there was a system of sacrifice for sins that involved offering animals to God in order to atone for the sins of the people. This was a system that was implemented under the Old Testament law. The priests would offer the sacrifice once a year, and it had to be done every year in order to deal with the sins of the people.

When Jesus offered Himself on the cross, He became a sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, similar to the way in which animals were used in Old Testament sacrifices to cover the people’s sins. The difference in what Jesus did, however, was that His blood didn’t just cover the sins of mankind, it literally blotted them out. Not only that, but Jesus’ blood dealt with past, present, and future sins. The sacrifice was perfect, complete, and eternal, which means its sin-cleansing effects go on forever, without end. Once you become born again, you have access to the continual cleansing power of the blood, even for sins you haven’t yet committed.

Some people may find this hard to accept, especially when scriptures like 1 John 1:9 have been used by Christians as a basis to confess their sins over and over again in an attempt to keep from going to hell or to keep God from striking them down in judgment; however, 1 John 1:9 is referencing what happens when we initially become born again. When we confess our sins at the point of accepting Jesus, He cleanses us of all unrighteousness, and we are made the righteousness of God in an instant. We no longer have to take ourselves through religious confessions of sins in an attempt to get in God’s good graces; He accepts us the moment we accept His Son. When we miss the mark, we simply repent and get back on the path to righteousness.

Please understand, God doesn’t see you as a sinner after you get saved; He sees you as the righteousness of God. Your spirit, which is the real you, is recreated in holiness and is as pure as it will ever be. Therefore, when you miss the mark, you are not sinning with your spirit because your spirit cannot and does not ever participate in sin. It is your soul and body that partake of sin, not the spirit. So when you miss it, you are still just like Jesus within your spirit. Renewing your mind on a daily basis, and making a decision to align your soul with the Word of God, will cause your spirit, soul, and body to function as one unit.

Hebrews 10:10-18 says: By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all…For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified … Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where the remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Every Believer’s recreated spirit has been perfected and made righteous; therefore, there is no need to offer continual “sacrifices” to achieve salvation. Our redemption from sin has been bought, paid for, and stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit. All we have to do is walk in the newness of life, which God has made available to us!
